Bob Smith 2013 – Race Report

A fantastic turnout from runners, marshals and helpers a big THANK YOU.

Sorry for the delay in getting the results out…My fault I have been busy and misplaced some of the information.

My aim was two fold.
1. To run one race but with two different courses with the same finish route.
This way the seniors would run further but still race the juniors over the final 1.5 miles.
It would have helped if I could have communicated this better to the times keepers and those recording the finishing positions as they separated the finishers which must have been very difficult. Very Sorry John Tony Elaine and John. = My Fault. – Any how I think everyone enjoyed themselves.

Well done to Ruey for bending Elaine’s ear and securing himself a handicap 3 minutes lessr than I originally gave him. That and the extra training he has been doing certainly paid off.

My second aim was to get every one round in 38 minutes. I need to do more training in that respect.

I didn’t award a fastest time on the night because I had misplaced the start times for the seniors so although I knew the finishing positions I did not have the handicap times.

Ged Callen was fastest man and Ruth was fastest lady. Well Done to both
and I awarded first lady to Becky Weight when it should have been Jane Moorhouse

I was sorry to hear that Jack Smith was an unlucky faller in the junior race and I hope he was not badly hurt.

Apart from that all went very smoothly.

Next Mr Bean Production will be the Autumn Handicap which I am intending to run on the 3rd Saturday in September subject to committee approval.
