On a hot Sunday morning, made hotter by the city centre location, all nine of our Bingley runners came home with at least one medal.
We took two team awards:
M75+
1st Prestatyn RC total 1:22:51
2nd Bingley Harriers 45 Fred Gibbs 24:22 4 David Barber 29:11
124 John Smithurst 29:24 total 1:22:57
M65-74
1st Bingley Harriers 105 Bryan Parkinson 21:28 9 Gerry Bell 21:35
5 Les Haynes 21:55 total 1:04:58
Bingley also won four individual medals. It appears that the results on the day were decided on the gun time rather than the chip time
– perhaps the chip times were not available on the day. Unusually, the results do not separate male and female vets.
Sue Becconsall, for example is listed as 11th vet 55, but was 2nd F55. Be that as it may, individual medals were awarded to:
John Convery, 2nd M55 chip time 17m-15
Leslie Watson, 3rd F45 chip time 19m-42
Sue Becconsall, 2nd F55 chip time 20m-07
Fred Gibbs, 3rd M75 chip time 24m-14
Well done Bingley!
