I would like to welcome you all to our social section of the website, especially new and current members and guests who may be looking in for the first time. Once again we had a busy Autumn/Winter kicking off with our annual Senior Christmas Trip to the Pendle Inn at Barley. It was almost an overnighter but thanks to the driver we got away just as the snow started to settle!
Our Club Dinner and Presentations in March at the Bradford & Bingley Sports Club was fantastic! Well done to Ruth and All her little helpers. Ruth has really freshened up this event and if you have not yet had the chance please come and join us all in 2011. Details will be confirmed later in the year. You never know, if you turn up you may even get an award!
We have just had our annual Charity Barn Dance which raised £430.00 for the Haematology Unit, BRI, Bradford. Once again we had a great evening and many thanks to all who supported this event, see you all again next year! The Summer Trip this year is on Thursday 15th July to the Royalty Inn, Otley Chevin. Please book now!! Big Adrian is putting together a run so it should be another great night. Since we finally got ourselves a social HQ and moved into the B&BSC there has not been a great demand or need for pub runs apart from a very small minority. If you want these back once a month in the summer please let me know. We will however be doing a backpack run over to Ilkley and I will confirm the date soon.
That’s it for now and I would like to thank you all for your support over the last 10 years. I have really enjoyed doing this job and hope I have made a difference. It’s now time to step to one side and give someone else a crack at the AGM in September. Have a healthy and injury free summer!
Please check the Social section on our website and notice board at the B&B Sports Club for details of all events taking place throughout the year. We are always looking for suggestions from members on how we can continue to improve the Social environment at the Club so don’t be shy!
