The 6th annual event was run in much
better conditions than the torrential rain in 2000. The rain held
off until later in the evening. The numbers were slightly down
on last year as we seem to have clashes with schools open days
and problems with the late return of some schools due to building
work. Reports seem to indicate that the schools and athletes really
enjoyed the event and Bingley Harriers have had several enquires
from enthusiastic parents who would like their children to become
more involved.
Congratulations to all who took part and many thanks to our sponsors
Fila, Bradford & Bingley and Sportsmatch, the teachers for
their support and to all the helpers on the day. Following on
from this event the top runners in each age group have been invited
to a Fila sponsored Endurance Development Day to be held at Beckfoot
GS during the October break.
