The race venue was the Grouse Inn on Harehills
Lane, Oldfield near Keighley, West Yorkshire. This year the senior
race course was extended to 5.5 miles, which included a section
of rough open moorland. The junior course was the same as the previous
year.
Conditions on the day were good and the winner of the senior race
was Will Smith of Keighley & Craven, in a time of 33.02. The
first lady was Caroline Page, unattached, in a time of 47.13. The
first veteran was Thornton Taylor of Rossendale Harriers, in a
time of 33.10.
In the junior race Phillip Bolton of Rossendale Harriers was the first under
14 and winner of this race in a time of 9.32. The first under 12 was Oliver Webster
of Bingley Harriers, in a time of 9.56.
Next year the race will be the same course and at the same venue.
