After the horrendous weather of late we had pretty good weather conditions and a reasonable turnout for the final handicap of the year. Ian Hill had a very good run to make a mockery of his handicap and walk off with first place. Andy Peace had a cracking run in wet underfoot conditions from scratch to again record the fastest time of the day. Sharon Taylor had a battle royal with Steve Fry to record the fastest time by a lady. The handicapper's target time this year was 106.00 so handicaps will be amended accordingly. You have been warned. The main discussion of the day centred on the question of whether the canal towpath or the relatively new river path was the fastest on this course which gives some options, as new boy Adam Cooper unfortunately discovered [ never mind Adam - it has happened to us all at some time !]. Answers on a postcard please! The presentations were made at the Fisherman by club President Bob Dover. Our thanks go to Landlord Bob and his staff for their usual warm welcome. Many thanks to all who assisted with marshalling, time keeping etc.
