In order to spare the handicapper's blushes in 2003 there will be a do-it-yourself handicap system. Each runner will be able to choose from 3 different start times; the normal handicap, 3 minutes earlier or 3 minutes later. Therefore ensuring that in the event of any error in the handicap the blame will lay fairly and squarely with the runner and not the handicapper!

This year's winner was Peter Walker who belied his name to win comfortably ahead of last year's victor Robert Adamson. Festive prizes were awarded to the first 12 runners at the Fisherman Inn where mine host provided soapy water to wash away those handicap blues.
