Entries on the day.

Note : Older Juniors can choose to run either course but the race is NOT suitable for Under 8s (sorry!) and Under 10s MUST do the shorter route.

THE SENIOR COURSE – 3.75 MILES - START AT 7.30

Competitors must be 14 or over on the day of the race

Start in the field nearest to the Car Park and then run through the fields towards Harden. Follow the path through Cuckoo Nest Wood before turning right up the hill towards the mansion. At the top turn left, cross the road and pass the Coppice Pond. The route then passes Lady Blantyre's Rock and continues up the hill. At the top go through the stile and turn right down Altar Lane. The route continues for a mile down Altar Lane before turning right through Betty's Wood. The path through the woods will be new to a number of runners but it will be marked. The course then passes the wood carving of the snake before dropping down to the finish situated next to the Car Park.

As always please have a look at the course before you run

UNDER 14 AGE GROUP - 2.4 MILES START AT 7.15

Competitors must be aged Under 14 on the day of the race

Start in the field nearest to the Car Park and then run through the fields towards Harden. Enter the wood via the gate then follow the path up through Cuckoo Nest Wood until you meet a broad track. Turn left and follow the track up the hill taking the first major right which then sweeps up and left before emerging onto the road. Cross the road (with care!) and go through the gate alongside Coppice Pond. Follow the track right round the pond (clockwise) until you find a left turn through the trees. Follow this track to the right and under the Ancient Bridge. Bear left and take the main track with the mansion on your left. Follow this track downhill until you almost reach the road then turn right steeply down hill to meet a main track where you turn sharp left. Keep on this track and follow it all the way to the road junction. Cross the road (with care!) and go through the gate into Betty’s Wood following the main path as it rises gently (first past the Witch then past a pair of Angels). At the end of the wood, the new path bears right but you go straight on and drop down to the picnic table alongside the signpost where you turn right down the old path. Follow the path until you see another picnic table and the Angry Goblin. Here turn sharp right, scramble up the bank and pick up the new main track. Turn left and follow this path as it sweeps to the right, through the wall next to a gate and all the way to the finish line alongside the car park.

As always please have a look at the course before you run

Cross the road (with care!) and go through the gate in to Betty’s Wood. Turn immediate right after the gate and follow the new path down to the car park.
