MATCH ONE OF THE NORTHERN TRACK & FIELD LEAGUE AT DONCASTER

Hi Ladies of the Track & Field team. Please accept my apology for the late report – I have been incredibly busy assisting the Smart Plants and Gardens gardening team!

Our first match took place at the wonderful Keep Moat Stadium in Doncaster on a lovely warm, sunny but very windy day. The ladies team was very small due to the Bank Holiday, University Champs, Injury and general unavailability. However the 9 ladies who were available to attend did extremely well with several personal best performances. We welcomed Amy Pollard and Lucy Oldroyd into the team and they both used the wind effectively to record good sprint times in both the 100m & 200m. Rosie McDonnell also making her debut for Bingley ran in the 400m & 4x400m relay in impressive style. Alana Gill obtained 3 personal bests in the 800m, 1500m and surprising the Shot Putt! Jo Buckley and Becky Weight were our superstar distance runners of the day and they also turned their hand to field events gaining valuable points in the Javelin!Read More »Ladies Northern Track & Field

Mens Track and Field Report

Track & Field Northern league Mens team report. We are now in the East Central division 3, the opening match was at Doncaster and for a change the conditions were reasonable for most of the events although the wind did affect the distance performances but it was good to see and feel the sun after such a miserable winter.

We welcomed for the first time Emile Cairess and Jacob Gill who have progressed well through the juniors and also new member Tom Clough, they made a real contribution to the results and we hope that they enjoyed their first outing with us and continue their enjoyment in athletics. Tom originally came as a spectator moved on to assisting officials and after 2 weeks training decided to have a go at competing which must be regarded as a success story for his coach and club.Read More »Mens Track and Field Report
