It seems strange to write a review so early in the season but that is testament to the performance produced by Demetric Nelson on Sunday at the first League match of the season in Doncaster.
24 days before his 19th birthday, Demetric did what no Bingley Harrier has ever be recorded as doing before. The Club record for the 100m was set in 1975 and is the second longest record on the books. The record holder is “J Roys” It is understood that he was also known as Mr Roys by many (including our Club President) as Mr Roys was a PE teacher.Read More »Bingley Harriers 100m Club Record Broken

MATCH ONE OF THE NORTHERN TRACK & FIELD LEAGUE AT DONCASTER
Hi Ladies of the Track & Field team. Please accept my apology for the late report – I have been incredibly busy assisting the Smart Plants and Gardens gardening team!
Our first match took place at the wonderful Keep Moat Stadium in Doncaster on a lovely warm, sunny but very windy day. The ladies team was very small due to the Bank Holiday, University Champs, Injury and general unavailability. However the 9 ladies who were available to attend did extremely well with several personal best performances. We welcomed Amy Pollard and Lucy Oldroyd into the team and they both used the wind effectively to record good sprint times in both the 100m & 200m. Rosie McDonnell also making her debut for Bingley ran in the 400m & 4x400m relay in impressive style. Alana Gill obtained 3 personal bests in the 800m, 1500m and surprising the Shot Putt! Jo Buckley and Becky Weight were our superstar distance runners of the day and they also turned their hand to field events gaining valuable points in the Javelin!Read More »Ladies Northern Track & Field
