Last Sunday, Sarah Benson smashed her own club Shot Put record at the indoor 2013 British University Championships ( B.U.C’s) held at the English Institute of Sport ( E.I.S) Sheffield.

Indoors: Silver
The Welsh Indoor 2013 champion recently broke her club record at the European Trials with a throw of 13.49m, and came 5th .

Saturday 23rd Qualifying rounds:10:00am Sarah, seeded in pool 1 while her main rival Jo Rowland seeded in pool 2, both qualified with their first throw, Sarah going through to the final ( Sunday) in top spot.
Sunday Final: 10:00am start. Throwing order Sarah 3rd , Jo 5th
Round 1: Sarah opened up with a shocker 11:61m, Jo responded with 12:42.
Round 2: Sarah heading in the right direction 12:60m, Jo responded with 12:81
Round 3: Sarah, gloves off, threw a massive life time best of 13.80m, breaking own club record and moved into Gold position . Jo responded with a throw of 13.19m.
Round 4: Sarah, tried too hard and threw a no throw, Jo 12.79m .
Round 5: The now composed Sarah threw 12:76m, Jo 12:22m
Round 6: Sarah finished off with a throw of 13.03, Jo, last roll of the dice, threw everything into it, stepped out of the front in the process, no throw.
