  • by

We had a few Harriers competing in the first race of this year’s series. Horsforth Harriers hosted the event at a new venue – Trinity and All Saints University to the west of Horsforth rail station. Facilities were good, with large car parks, excellent changing rooms, showers and toilets. The course was classic cross-country over very muddy and hilly fields and woods. The mens winner was David Watson, M40 Holmfirth 28m-52s and ladies Karen Pickles F40 Pudsey Pacers 34-49.
Bingley finishers from 216 runners were –

Sue Becconsall 35-31   3rd lady, 1st F50
Marisol C-V        42-21
Paul Mitchell      32-50   9th man, 2nd M50
Bryan Parkinson 39-58   62nd      2nd M60
Peter Ellerton     40-58   73rd
John Smithurst     46-45   113th     1st M75  Well done John!

The runs by Sue Beccs and Paul Mitchell were outstanding.

We have a long wait for the second race at Honley, hosted by Holmfirth on 28 April and Bingley are scheduled to host the third one on May 28.
