In the last Cross Country event of the season, held at Castle Donnington on Saturday 15 March, four of our talented youngsters were representing West Yorkshire, and all four did us proud.
In the U14 Girls race Vicki Merrick was the 2nd counter for the team, finishing in 86th position, and has once again been selected to represent the county in the London Mini-Marathon.
In the U14 Boys Reuben Mantle, having been selected in 8th position in the trials, continued his fine improvement to finish 252nd, as the county’s sixth counter, while Matthew Merrick, the County champion produced his best-ever performance in a fantastic 30th place.
In the U16 Boys race, Emile Cairess once again showed a really positive approach, being with the leaders for much of the race and finally finishing in a splendid 16th place.
