The Shepherd’s Skyline Fell Race brought to a close this years Bingley Harriers Fell Championship. With 16 Harriers turning out (the highest for a fell championship race this year) the field was speckled throughout with blue and white hoops.
Before the race high winds and heavy rain made it look like it would be a miserable race but just before the gun went the clouds parted and the sun shone on the field, although the winds didn’t abate.
The race was won by Tom Adams of Ilkley in 41:44 and Helen Fines of Calder Valley FR taking the ladies crown in 51:10. Andy Nicoll had a great run coming in 17th overall in a time of 48:47 and Dave Stephenson in 53:21 and 2nd over 50.
