27 October 2013 – Bradford City Runs 5k/10k/HM

With storm St. Jude on the horizon the Bingley Harriers created their own whirl wind with some terrific performances and excellent marshaling.

10k Race – Andy Nicoll returned to the road for his first road 10k race in a far while to finish in overall 6th place in 38:49 (1st Vet M40). Waheed Khan (11th overall) in 42:36 Emma Green crossed the finish line as first female finisher (14th overall) in a time of 43:46, closely followed in by second lady Marisol Carrera Vivar (16th overall) in 45:43. Followed by Becky Weight 46:03, Peter Ellerton 46:05 (1st Vet M60), Pete Shord 49:43, John Smithurst 50:33 (1st Vet 70), Laura Meadowcroft 51:06, Phil Hawkswell 51:14, Richard Newman 57:39 and Rosalyn Kitson in 01:08:04.

Half Marathon Race – Stephen Fry finished in overall 8th position in 01:25:16, shortly followed by Wayne King-Farlow in 01:35:15, Dean Dransfield 01:39:45, our very own Tony Kinghan in 01:44:46. I was the only lady out for Bingley on the HM and finished in 01:58:13 and 5th lady overall.

Well done to all, in not the nicest of weather conditions and a bit of wind for an added element of challenge.

If you enjoyed the challenge of the Bradford City Run 10k then keep your eyes peeled, I will be posting the 2013/14 10k Road Championship schedule shortly.

That concludes my first road race report as the ladies road manager.
